Low Screen Resolution Warning in OrthoView

Learn how to address and resolve low screen resolution warnings in OrthoView for clear and accurate imaging in surgical planning.

Can The Low Screen Resolution Warning Be Disabled?

The low screen resolution warning in OrthoView cannot be disabled. This warning is a crucial part of our Usability Risk Charter, ensuring that users operate within the recommended system requirements. If the screen resolution is too low, OrthoView may not function as intended, which could impact the accuracy and effectiveness of clinical planning.

Minimum Screen Resolution Requirement

OrthoView requires a minimum vertical screen resolution of 1024 pixels or greater (e.g., 1600x1200). If the resolution falls below this threshold, different types of messages may appear:

  • Warning Message (Critical) – If the resolution is 767 pixels or lower (less than 75% of the requirement), a warning message will be displayed. This warning indicates that the system requirements are not met, and OrthoView may not function properly.

  • Notification Message (Advisory) – If the resolution is between 767 and 1023 pixels (75%–100% of the requirement), a notification message will appear. This is an advisory message suggesting an adjustment, but it does not prevent system operation. This notification can be suppressed by selecting the "Do not show this message again" checkbox.

Browser Window Considerations (For OrthoView Web Users)

For users running OrthoView Web, it is important to note that resolution detection is based on the size of the browser window, not the operating system’s display settings. If the browser window is not maximized, the detected resolution may be lower than the actual screen resolution, triggering a notification or warning message.

Impact on Clinical Usage

If the resolution is only slightly below the required threshold, it should not significantly affect clinical usage. However, for optimal performance and accuracy, we strongly recommend ensuring the display resolution meets or exceeds the 1024-pixel minimum requirement.
