Understanding Local License Transfer Conditions
A local license is linked to a single PC. Transferring this local license to another PC is permitted under certain conditions. For full details on licensing terms, review the End-User License Agreement (EULA) of your software.
Before transferring a license, it must be deactivated on the PC where it is currently registered. Follow the appropriate steps below based on the situation of the computer where the license is currently active. After deactivation, this license becomes available for activation on another PC, as explained in this guide.

Returning a Device
In situations where you cannot release a license using the standard re-hosting process or deactivate it with the wizard—such as when the HostID has changed, the device is stolen, or it is permanently broken—the Return Device option is available. This feature helps you manage licenses for non-functional devices while keeping your license pool organized for future use.
Key Points to Remember:
- Returning a device is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Only use this option when:
- The device can no longer receive capability responses or license files.
- The server will no longer manage devices or communicate with the licensing back office.
License Management Options:
- Move licenses to a new device: Create the new device beforehand to transfer the licenses seamlessly.
- Return licenses to the pool: Unused licenses can be allocated to another device later.
