How to uninstall ID-based Floating License server if nothing helps


To fully clean up server from ID-based FLS the following steps should be taken: 

  1. Check services to be uninstalled and stop them. There are several service names that could appear: 
    1. FNLS_material - default service name that is used during installation via command prompt
    2. FlexNet Embedded Local License Server​ - default service name that is used during installation by using FlexnetLicenseServerWizardInstaller.exe
      Please keep in mind that this service name could be changed during installation by User. 
      Example: 
  2. Removing service location
    For each of the found service find service location
    1. Check service location 
    2. Remove service location
      Example of how to check service location: 

  3. Removing service from registry: 
    1. Copy service name from service properties
      Example: 

 

  1. Open Command prompt as an Admin
    Example: 
  2. Execute command: sc delete <<Service name>>
    Example: 

    Error during removing of the service

    If you see error message “The spesified service does not exist as an installed service” (as shown below)

    Please check whether there is an additional space in service name that should be also added into comand:

     

     
  3. Removing trusted storage location
    1. Execute command: rmdir /s C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\flexnetls\material
      Example:

    2. Confirm folder removal
