Unable to complete activation due to network issue (Wizard V2.2.6)

 

Issue appears on Wizard V2.2.6 only

 

Issue description

License activation failing due to network issues and user is not guided to offline activation flow. So, User is not able to generate capability request file for offline activation.

Example of error message that is show on Wizard is presented below:

Root cause

During activation system checks availability of connection with End user portal and based on check system follow online activation of guides user to offline activation. 
So, system is able to reach End user portal during connectivity check however firewall blocks actual information exchange during activation process and it fails. 

Steps for resolution

Option 1 - online activation

Update firewall policy, so that SW could have access to https://materialise.compliance.flexnetoperations.eu/deviceservices and will be able to complete online activation. 

Option 2 - offline activation

Activate SW offline by following the steps:

  1. Disable network completely
  2. Start activation. System will guide to Offline activation flow due to absence of any connection to End User portal as shown on the screen:
     
  3. Save LicenseRequest.bin file 
  4. Enable network and follow offline activation flow.
