Install a new Floating License Server and the License Server Manager used to activate and manage its licenses.
Before you begin, you need:
- Administrator rights on the machine you're installing to.
- Hardware: 500 MB free disk space, 4 GB RAM, 2 GHz dual-core CPU or better.
- Operating system: Windows 10, Windows 11, or Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025.
Already have a Floating License Server installed? If you're reinstalling or replacing the server and the existing installation prevents setup, see Clean up the Floating License Server.
Installing on a virtual machine? The Server ID is derived from the machine's MAC address. Make sure it doesn't change after activation, as a changed Server ID may invalidate the activated licenses.
